About the usage of this site

Thank you for visiting The Cat Breeders Association® resource website. For various legal reasons we are required to communicate a few key points, known as the Terms and Conditions of The Cat Breeders Association® website to you. Please read these carefully and make sure that you understand them.

Copyright Statement

All trade marks, copyright, database rights and/or all other intellectual property rights, in relation to all and any text, graphics and other material in whatever form contained on this site, are the property of The Cat Breeders Association®, and are used with the authorisation of the owner of such rights. This means that you may reproduce material on this site for personal use only. Unauthorised use, including but not limited to, modification, distribution, copying, renting, hiring, lending, transmission and broadcast of material on this site is prohibited. Material from this site may not be sold or otherwise distributed for profit.

Links on The Cat Breeders Association® sites may take you outside The Cat Breeders Association® network, and The Cat Breeders Association® accepts no responsibility for the content, accuracy or function of these sites; the links are provided in good faith, and we cannot be held responsible for any subsequent change in sites to which we link.

Limitation of liability

Neither The Cat Breeders Association®, any of its associated companies, nor any other party involved in creating, producing, or delivering this site, shall be liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages, costs, losses or liabilities whatsoever arising out of your access to, or use of, this site. In addition, The Cat Breeders Association® shall not be liable for any damages to, or viruses that may infect your computer equipment or other property, by reason of your use of, access to, or downloading of any material from, this site.

1. What is a Cookie?

A Cookie is a small string of text that is stored on your PC's hard disk, unless you delete it or it expires - the expiry date of the cookie is predetermined and terminates on a set date usually 30, 60, 90, 120 or 365 days. It is not a computer program, and cannot harm the data on your PC. Only non-sensitive data is stored in the cookie and not sensitive data such as passwords or personal information.

2. How do I know when I have received a Cookie?

You need to switch on the 'Alert before accepting Cookies' option in your browser.

3. Should I switch on the alert?

It's up to you. However, increasingly, sites are using more and more Cookies that expire when you switch off your browser; it can become tiresome to see so many alerts.

4. What are Cookies for?

Cookies have two functions. The first is to 'maintain state of an application'. Basically, this means that each time you come back to a site, you begin where you left off. For instance, you may only need to register to enter a site once. The second function is to track your path through the site.

5. What does that mean?

Tracking your path can help the site provider optimise the site based on popular paths or pages. You may feel that this knowledge of your use - the site provider could set up a profile of your particular habits - is an unwelcome intrusion into your privacy. However, bear in mind that no personally identifiable data is being collected.

6. What is The Cat Breeders Association® policy?

First, we never pass statistical data on to 3rd parties. All The Cat Breeders Association® sites that use Cookies explain what use we are putting them to.

7. Should I delete Cookies?

Again, it's up to you. If you feel that Cookies are an intrusion into your privacy, delete them. However, we recommend that you do not delete them. This will usually decrease your access to useful information on subsequent visits to the site.

8. Can Cookies be stolen from my PC?

No. The information stored on your PC will only be transmitted to the server that sent them in the first place.

Your pet's well being

The information in this site is not a substitute for veterinary advice and is for information purposes only. You should always consult a veterinary surgeon if you have any concerns about your pet's health. He or she will have the advantage of taking a complete medical history and physically examining your animal. They will therefore be in a much better position to diagnose the illness, establish a prognosis and make recommendations about appropriate treatment. Opinions and advice offered on The Cat Breeders Association® website and/or forum are not legally binding in any form.
Whilst reasonable care has been taken to ensure that the details on this site are accurate and that the opinions are fair and reasonable, no representation or warranty, express or implied, is made as to the accuracy, completeness or correctness of information or opinions given. The Cat Breeders Association® accept no liability for consequences of any accurate information.
