Re-homing your kittens

Make sure that all kittens are well cared for, nurtured, petted and pampered whilst in your care as this is invaluable when trying to sell/give away your kittens. You must make sure that all of the kittens are fully vaccinated before they go to their new homes.

Hints and Tips when re-homing your kittens:

1. Question potential owners - this will give you an insight to whether your kittens are going to good homes where they will be looked after and treated well?

2. Do not let your kittens be sold before they are 12 weeks old - all of the cats will be fully vaccinated and give the new kitten owner a copy of the cat's vet record or receipt which proves the cat has been vaccinated, examined by the vet and that the cat is in good health

3. Ask your cat owner to sign a contract that says if they decide that they do not want the cat they will return it to you, the breeder

4. As a breeder you may be required to show the new owner proof that the father and mother of the cat they are purchasing meet the standards of the breed

5. Provide new kitten owners with a 'welcome pack' to owning kittens. This could include information on [BreederChoice Insurance]. The new owner of the kitten can receive up to 12weeks FREE insurance if they take out insurance from BreederChoice within 48hours of purchasing the kitten. you could also include your contact details so that the new owners can always contact you if they have any problems and can also keep you informed of the kittens progress. You can also include some 'cat care' leaflets giving the owners advice on looking at the kitten such as neutering or spaying the kitten, food and grooming tips.
