A cat has been reunited with its owners after he travelled over 400 miles over the English and Welsh countryside.
One year old Charlie went missing from his owners’ home in Tywardreath, near the Cornish coastline just over three months ago.
Natasha Johns was distraught, as any owner would be, when Charlie went missing in mid February. A much loved family pet Natasha, her partner Rob and 2-year old daughter Roxanne put up countless posters in a desperate attempt to find their playful cat.
After 3 months with no word as to Charlie’s whereabouts, Natasha had all but given up hope.
Then at the end of May Natasha received a phone call to say Charlie had been found.
Charlie was found on 19 May in Llanfaethlu, Anglesey, over 400 miles from where he had gone missing.
When she first received the phone call Natasha thought that it was a hoax, but to her amazement the call turned out to be real. Charlie had been traced back to the Family by a phone number on his collar.
Unfortunately, the one year old kitten was in a bad state, in a lot of pain with his collar in bedded into his bed. After some loving vets treatment he was able to be returned to the Johns’ family, who are now planning on having him micro chipped.
The RSPCA believe he might have strayed into a Lorry and made the 400 mile coast to coast journey as a stowaway.
If you have added to your family with a kitten from a Cat Breeders Association member you could be eligable to 12 weeks free insurance. Breeders who register with the Association can pass this and other benefits people collecting a kitten from them. To find out more vist www.cat-breeds.co.uk.
