Cat and owner reunited after 5 years

An 11-year old tabby cat with no collar was found in Aldershot and his microchip showed a Glasgow address. It would have been rather unusual to find a cat 400 miles away from home, but the fact later on came to light that the owners actually moved from Aldershot to Glasgow. The cat is called Pinks because of his pink nose and his owners moved cities two years after his disappearance, but kept updating the address on his microchip. Lucky they have decided to keep the address updated as five years after Pinks’ disappearance the family received a phone call: “I got a phone call from the vets saying we’ve got your cat. At first I thought ‘this is a joke’ “. The owners were ecstatic and are travelling down to collect their pet.

Pink Panther kittens

Four kittens have been rescued from Ladds Concrete Factory in Redruth, Cornwall after being abandoned by their mother. Staff at the factory heard their meows and found them hiding between a set of pallets. The four-week-old kittens have come into contact with some red dye whilst residing at the factory as their fur has turned pink after they’ve been bathed by the staff at Cats Protection. Luckily, they were not harmed by the dye and their fur should return to its natural colour after a few months when the pink has grown out. The four kittens are of different shades of pink and are named: Pink Panther, Clouseau, Dusty and Cerise. They are adorable and once they are strong enough, will be re-homed.

The Owl and the Pussycat

Cat InsuranceThey may have been lacking a  pea green boat, a guitar and a five pound note.

However, their friendship is living up to the one depicted in the famous song and thousands of viewers have tuned into You Tube to watch their games.

The two stars are Fum, the black cat, and Gebra, the barn owl.
They can be seen affectionately playing together. With Gebra swooping towards Fum, who would respond by pawing at its feathered friend.

Later in the film the friends are seen nuzzling each other as if they were part of the same litter or nest.
It is believed that the pair have been friends since they were young and may have bonded over a love of hunting rodents.

It is not clear where the film was taken however it looks to be somewhere in the Spanish countryside where they will be sure to be dancing by the  light of the Spanish moon!

Cat’s ears for humans, whatever next?

Cat lovers show their appreciation of their furry friends in many different ways. Some buy cat keyrings, others have cat tea towels some even go as far wearing cat clothes. However, not many buy and wear cat ears, not least ones that respond to the wearers’ emotional state!

Those clever people at the Japanese electronics firm Neurowear have created a set of fluffy ears that will move depending on the emotional state of the owner.

The ears are said to curl down when you are sad, stand up if you are concentrating, go flat when you are tired and wiggle if you are amused.

The ears are said to work by an electronic headband that picks up brain waves

Videos of the ears show them moving; however it is not clear whether they are truly responding to emotional states as they do seem a little erratic.

However, the concept itself is certainly an amusing one and whether they are scientifically accurate or not.

Ever wondered what your cat gets up to while you are at work?

We all wonder what our cats get up to when we let them out and a couple in the US decided to find out! Mr and Mrs Cross decided to spy on their cat, Cooper, by attaching a small camera to his collar. The time-operated camera takes snapshots which enables the photos to be taken from a cat’s perspective. The owners said: ‘When Cooper brought the camera home at the end of the first day, we were completely blown away by the stunning photography.’ They have also learnt that Cooper has spent a long time waiting to be let inside the house, which prompted the couple to install a cat flap. The photographs, however, turned out so well that they’ve been exhibited and snapped up by customers. Cooper also has many fans on social network websites and has become quite a little celebrity by appearing on US TV.
