Cat returns home after Hurricane Katrina

As a cat breeder, you will already be aware of what amazing and resilient creatures cat are.

A cat that was lost and assumed dead five years ago after the devastation caused by hurricane Katrina, has been returned to his owners.

When the catastrophic hurricane hit the US coastline in 2005 it breeched levees and killed over 1800 people. When electricity supplies failed, Jennifer Noble from Mississippi and her family were forced to open windows to deal with the intense heat.

The tabby was found five years later in good health with a few injuries.  His owner said, “ The scenery was changing every day. I honestly think he got disorientated; that he just couldn’t find his way back. If he could talk I’m sure he has quite a story to tell.”

Jennifer Noble added. “Today, he still has his moments where he gets a little jumpy. He’s not as docile as he used to be. He’s got a bit if wild in him.”

This amazing story can be attributed to the success of micro chipping.

Tara High of the Human society of South Mississippi said, This is the power of micro chipping. There is no other way that the cat would have found its family. This is a very dramatic story with a dramatic ending.
